Parking Meters
Would
Be Extortion

I’ve been following all
the discussions about placing parking meters in uptown Ocean City, which Mr.
Joe Hall of the town council is trying to push down our throats.
As a non-resident owner
[with no voting rights] who owns a condo on 120th Street, I think it would be a
great idea to put a string of meters on the street outside his restaurant
on 60th Street. I think it’s only fair, after all he wants us to be impacted by
constantly feeding meters, so I think it’s only right that his customers
should be impacted as well. See if this will change his mind.
We don’t go to Bethany
or Rehoboth in the summer just because of the meters, so we don’t spend money
in the restaurants, bars or the Boardwalk. Find some other way to raise
revenue, since you’re not gauging us with all the high property taxes. We all
cut back with this economy, so should you and the city.
Stop trying to find
creative ways of extorting money from the owners of property with no voting
rights. If we did, you would not be on town council, that’s for sure. And by
the way if the town is broke, how did they find the money to extend 146th
Street?

Smearing With Oil

In every campaign there
is a definitive moment when it is easy to see what the direction and voice a
campaign will be taking. This usually comes somewhere around the half way mark
after both campaigns have felt their way around each other.
Well, this year we will
not have to wait until September or October to see what direction the O’Malley
campaign is heading. Last week they release this horrible "Burn Baby
Burn" commercial. This commercial is as slimmy as the oil they talk about.
How many lies can be contained in one commercial? Is there a record?. There are
at a minimum four in this one.
The main one is calling
Mr Ehrlich a lobbyist for the oil companies. Hopefully, people will take time
to research and find he has never been a registered lobbyist either on the
state or federal level.
Now the Ehrlich campaign
will not fire back because that’s not their style but if they did they would
point out that this basket of bull was released right after the latest polls
showed the race at a dead heat. This must have terrified O’Malley’s campaign
and made them go to the negative dirty tricks right away.
Just remember the old
saying in politics. If you can’t stand on your record just smear the other guy.
This time it appears they’ve decided to try and smear him with oil.
Let’s prove we can see
through the falsehoods and negativity as smart voters.

Patriotic Rally Planned

As chairman of the
Worcester County chapter of the non-partisan political activist group
“Americans for Prosperity”, I’d like to thank all those who have volunteered
their time and effort to help with preparations for our upcoming Independence
Day patriotic street rally to be held on Saturday, July 3.
Our goal is to send a
message to the thousands of passing beachgoers that patriotism and American
pride is alive and well in Worcester County. For maximum exposure, we will
rally at the intersection of Routes 50 and 611 n the perimter of the “Trader
Lees” complex n the busiest traffic day of the year, at the busiest
traffic time of the day, noon to 2 p.m.
We invite all patriots
to join us for this important event, which will be followed by a social for
rally participants at the beautiful picnic area behind the Steer Inn Tavern on
Route 589. Wear you best red, white and blue and carry signs with patriotic
messages so that we can proclaim loud and clear that patriotism is politically correct.
Our rally in April drew
approximately 225 patriots, and this time around we are aiming for 300. Those
who wish to participate must pre-register by submitting name of
participants via e-mail at [email protected] so that we have enough supplies at the post-rally
social. Upon registration, further details will be provided.

read our palms and tarot cards. Thank you all for taking time out of your busy
schedule to help me.
I couldn’t be more
grateful for the people that came and bid on the items and those that have sent
cash donations that could not be there. I feel very blessed to have a great
support network of people that have rallied around me and given so much support
since I got sick. If I have left anyone out, I am incredibly sorry. Everyone
made it a memorable evening and I truly feel blessed for all the help I have
received from people in the community.
