BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s boys’ varsity lacrosse team hung with Bayside Conference front-runner Queen Anne’s for about a half on Tuesday before falling to the Bayside North frontrunners, 15-5.

The Seahawks played the Lions just about even for the first two quarters on Tuesday and trailed by just one goal at 4-3 at the half. However, Queen Anne’s steadily pulled away from the young Seahawks in the second half and cruised to the 15-5 win.

The loss to Queen Anne’s on Tuesday on the road did little to tarnish what was otherwise a great week for Decatur. Last Wednesday, the Seahawks edged Bayside South rival Bennett, 11-10. Nick Abbaticchio, who finished with three goals, scored the game-tying and game-winning goals for the Seahawks, while Curtis Snyder also scored three. Last Friday, the Seahawks blanked Wicomico, 14-0. Abbaticchio and Kyle Gilbert each scored four goals, while Brendan Terlizzi and Eric Geiser each scored two.

At today’s home game against North Caroline, the Decatur lacrosse boosters will raffle off a skin board, sweatshirt and hat from K-Coast, a $30 gift card from Home Depot and a $50 gift card from Best Buy. Next Wednesday at home against Kent County, the boosters will raffle a skateboard and sweatshirt from Malibu’s, a $25 gift certificate from Blue Ox and a $60 gift certificate from the Captain’s Table.
