Terri Lee Taylor

OCEAN CITY – Terri Lee Taylor, 53, died at her home in Gettysburg, Pa. on March 17, 2010.

Born in Salisbury to Jeanette Messick Taylor and the late Orlando W. Taylor, she is survived by her daughters, Maria Taylor and Kathleen Taylor of Gettysburg. Taylor is also survived by her 3 brothers, Landy Taylor and his wife Debbie of Ocean City, Tom Taylor and his companion Denise Lane of Ocean Pines and John Taylor and his wife Julie, of Quantico. She was an adored aunt to eight nieces and nephews.

Taylor was an attorney and a member of the Md. State Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association and the Worcester County Bar Association where she held the position of secretary and later treasurer. She was an advocate in the legal services programs for Life Crisis Center, Inc., past member of the Worcester County Commission for Women, awarded volunteer for Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service, named in Who’s Who with honors for Leadership and Achievement, served on the Inquiry Panel for the Attorney Grievance Commission, and Who’s Who of American Women for contributing significantly to the betterment of contemporary society.

Lionel W. Massey

BERLIN – Lionel W. Massey, 76, of Bishopville, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.

He was born in Salisbury and grew up in Ocean City, the son of the late Francis W. and Catherine R. McTavish Massey. 

He owned and operated Massey Catering Service with his wife Helen. He was a member of St. Paul’s By The Sea Episcopal Church in Ocean City, member and past Commander of the American Legion Post 166 in Ocean City and a life member of the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Department. He loved horses and was an active member of the United States Trotting Association. He was also a US Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Helen G. Massey of Bishopville; a son, Kirk Massey of Bishopville and a daughter, Tami Davis and her husband Terry of Millsboro; and two granddaughters who were the loves of his life, Morgan Davis and Billye Marie Massey.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 27 at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville with Chaplain Richard Bunting officiating. Friends may call an hour before the service.

Alexander Charles Robinson Wilson

TOWSON – Alexander Charles Robinson Wilson, 83, passed away at his home in Towson on March 21 after a long battle with cancer.

Wilson and his wife, Margee, had a summer home in Ocean City for over 20 years and his daughter, Anne Wilson Almand, and her husband, Jim, and children, Claire and Hayes, live in Ocean City.

Wilson, who graduated from Duke University, was an electrical engineer at Black & Decker for 37 years, retiring as director of electrical engineering. He acquired several patents for Black & Decker. After he retired, Wilson was a consultant for several companies in the Baltimore area, including Branch Electric.

For many years, Wilson was top badminton player in Maryland and was president of the Maryland Badminton Association. In later years, he enjoyed playing tennis in Towson and Ocean City and sailing in the Assawoman Bay. For many years, Wilson and six of his closest friends from Duke enjoyed their annual retreat to Ocean City for several days of crab, beer and camaraderie.

In addition to his daughter and her family, Wilson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Eierman Wilson, and his son, Alexander F. Wilson, and his wife, Joan, and children, Lauren and Sandy.

Gilbert Francis Timothy Stricker

OCEAN PINES  — Gilbert Francis Timothy Stricker, 89, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at his home in Ocean Pines.

Born in Baltimore he was the son of the late William Stricker and Helen Goonan Stricker.

Stricker was a graduate of Loyola High School where he was the captain of the Dons basketball team in 1940. He graduated from Loyola College and the University of Maryland College Park.

Stricker was a United States Army Air Force Veteran having served in WWII. He had worked as an accountant for the State of Maryland and also as an attorney. He was an avid golfer and an athlete who enjoyed many sports throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife Julia H. Stricker; a son, Robert J. Stricker and

his wife Gloria; a daughter, Kathleen A. Jones; a sister, Betty Pfeifer and her husband Raymond; and three grandchildren, Michael, Dylan and Jamie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, March 27 at 11 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Ocean Pines. Rev. Thomas Protack will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be on Tuesday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
