BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s Bradley Hollowell this week won the state championship in the pole vault, while teammate Matthew Allenbaugh finished third, continuing a recent run of success for the Seahawks’ dynamic duo.
Hollowell jumped an impressive 13’6” at the Class 3A meet this week in Prince George’s County to win the state championship. Allenbaugh finished with a high vault of 12’6” to take third overall in the state meet. In the 3A-East region meet last week, Hollowell was first and Allenbaugh was second. The pair finished third and fifth last year respectively in the state championship meet.
Other Decatur indoor track athletes made their mark in the state meet this week including Bradley Janson, who finished 9th in the women’s 500. Janson was also part of a relay team including Carly Bodulus, Lauren Cosgriff and Ravyn Saunders that finished 10th in the women’s 4×800 relay. Decatur’s Max Hulme was ninth in the high jump.
