PRMC Awarded

SALISBURY – Peninsula Regional Medical Center, a 362-bed tertiary care facility in Salisbury, has announced that it has received the 2009/2010 Women’s Health Excellence Award™ from HealthGrades, the nation’s leading independent healthcare ratings organization, based on a newly released study of patient outcomes.

The award ranks Peninsula Regional among the top 5% of all United States hospitals for Women’s Health, and places it among an elite group of only 169 American hospitals to have earned and achieved this national distinction.

Peninsula Regional Medical Center is the only hospital or medical center in the state of Maryland and the Washington, DC region to be awarded the HealthGrades 2009/2010 Women’s Health Excellence Award™. In addition, HealthGrades presented Peninsula Regional a 5-Star Rating in Women’s Health Services for 2009/2010. A 5-Star hospital is recognized as a best performing facility in the delivery of that care and has achieved the highest possible rating from HealthGrades.

“The significance of the HealthGrades Women’s Health Excellence Award™-and its personal importance to me-is that it recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of our staff in so many different clinical specialties that are essential to the health and well being of Delmarva women of all ages,” said Peninsula Regional President Peggy Naleppa. “To be ranked among the best in the United States for any type of care you provide requires a team effort, and this award clearly acknowledges a total team effort and dedication to women’s health issues at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.”
