Angelo Michael Villani

OCEAN CITY – Angelo Michael Villani, age 89, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at his home in Ocean City.

Born in Philadelphia on July 31, 1919, he was the son of the late Ignazio and Concettina Villani.

Villani moved to the Eastern Shore with his family in 1924. He was a graduate of Ocean City High School and worked in his father’s business, I. Villani & Sons. He was manager of the Villa Nova Cottages in West Ocean City. He loved surf fishing and playing cards with his "Knights of the Round Table". In 1959, he and his wife opened the Villani Real Estate Office at 63rd Street in Ocean City until his retirement in 1989.

He was a United States Army Veteran. Angelo was an active member in the community. He was Past President and Gold Badge member of the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company, member of the American Legion Post 166 for 63 years, Past President of the Ocean City Lions Club, Past Director of the Home Bank, Past President of Coastal Board of Realtors and a member of the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce. He also served on committees of the Eastern Shore Blood Bank, Furnace Town and AMSA.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Rita Johnson Villani; daughters, Karen Camp and her husband David of Layton, Utah and Anita Chandler and her husband Shel of Ocean City; sister, Rosanna Bicking of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kristen Moffat, Jessica Robson, Jonathan Camp, Michael Camp and Meghan Camp; five great grandchildren, Braeden and Kaelin Moffat, William and Matthew Robson and Kyle Camp. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Tony, Sammy, Frank and Benny Villani; a sister, Josephine Donaway; and his beloved granddaughter, Angela Lewis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at noon at Holy Savior Catholic Church, 17th St. and Philadelphia Ave. in Ocean City. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 27, 1409 Philadelphia Ave., Ocean City, Md. 21842. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.

Renee Roissier Miller

MADISONVILLE, Tenn. — Renee Roissier Miller, age 50, of Madisonville, Tenn, died tragically on March 4, 2009.

She was raised in Laurel, Del., the beloved daughter of local pharmacists Robert (deceased) and Gail Roissier. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1976 and Salisbury State University in 1981. It was as students at Salisbury State that she met and began dating her future husband, Jamie Miller.

Following college she lived and worked in Ocean City. She worked in the fitness industry, teaching exercise classes and as a personal trainer at the former Sheraton Health Club and at Ocean City Health & Racquet Club. She and her husband married in Anchorage, Alaska in 1985. Later she owned and operated an Alaska day care center, Building Blocks.

The family moved to their home in eastern Tennessee in 1994 where she nurtured their growing herd of children and animals.

She is survived by her husband, Jamie; their nine children, Joannie, Jackie, Jeremy, Jesse, Jason, Joey, Janna, Jerry, and Jax, all of Madisonville, Tenn,; her mother, Gail Roissier of Sun City, Ariz.; and her siblings, Michelle Roissier, of Washion, Suzi Isrealsson of Alaska and Rick Roissier of Arizona. She was also the adored daughter-in-law of the late Joan Wood Miller of Ocean City and is survived by her husband’s sisters, Jeanne M. Gaetano of Salisbury, Terry Miller of Ocean City, Kristi Miller of Illinois and Cathie M. Fagerstrom of Virginia. She also leaves many grieving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Sean Michael Mitchell

SALISBURY – Sean Michael Mitchell, age 21, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Salisbury, he was the son of Kathleen Dryden Mitchell and Robert Mitchell and his wife Jeannie.

He was an active U.S. Marine, stationed in Camp LeJeune, most recently having served in Ramadi, Iraq from where he returned for leave recently to spend time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting.

Along with his parents, he is survived by a brother, Chris R. Mitchell; a sister, Sara W. Mitchell; paternal grandparents, Robert and Carolyn Mitchell; aunts and uncles, Earl and Diane Charnick, Danny and Patti Jackson and Steve Mitchell; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Charlton Dryden.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 2 p.m. at Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene, 27765 Nanticoke Rd., Salisbury, Md. 21801. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Interment will follow in Trinity Garden of Memory in Newark. Electra Brasure Quillin

OCEAN CITY – Electra Brasure Quillin, age 96, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at her home in Ocean City.

Born in Williamsville, Del., she was the daughter of the late James A. Brasure and Elizabeth Lynch Brasure. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond T. Quillin, II, in 1982.

Quillin was a school teacher for many years and taught in both Sussex and Worcester counties. She was a member of the Atlantic United Methodist Church in Ocean City. She was an avid coin collector, reader and

antiquarian.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond T. "Tom" Quillin, III and his wife Holli of Annapolis and Jennings B. Quillin and his wife Diane of Ocean City; six grandchildren, Dr. Bart Quillin, Lesley Q. Einwaechter, Lauren Gompers, Jennifer Quillin, Jason Quillin and Bryan Quillin; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Brasure; two sisters, Elizabeth Gordy and Madelyn McCabe Cannon and a daughter, Barbara Ann Quillin, in 1936.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Margie W. Palmer

WILLARDS – Margie W. Palmer, 61, of Willards went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 23, 2009, after a courageous eight-year battle with cancer.

Born in Willards, she was the daughter of the late Olen and Esther Wilkins White.

After raising her two sons, Margie began her business career in 1986 as a customer relations agent with the Wilgus Insurance Agency in Salisbury. In 1989, she was promoted to office manager, and in 2000, she became president of the agency, where she remained until 2006 before stepping down because of her battle with cancer. She was employed by Wilgus Insurance Agency for 23 years.

She was a member of Stevenson United Methodist Church in Berlin, where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the Altar Guild and was a guiding force behind the Healing and Prayer Ministry. Margie spent many hours in her flower garden, sitting in solitude and taking in God’s wonders and sounds. One of her favorite pasttimes was sitting in the hot tub, watching the sun rise in the morning or the moon rising in the evening.

Margie is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, James Palmer; two sons, James R. Palmer and his wife, Marie, of Pittsville and Eric L. Palmer and his wife, Ginger, of Dagsboro; one granddaughter, Maci Palmer; and two grandsons, Samuel Palmer and Porter Palmer. She also leaves behind two brothers, G. Royce White and his wife, Eloise, of Willards and J. Sheldon White and his wife, Isabelle, of Salisbury; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Mildred Phillips, of Willards; as well as many others whose lives she touched.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville. The Revs. Carol Price and Tom Gross will officiate. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery in Willards. Immediately following the interment service, everyone is invited to join the family at Stevenson United Methodist Church for food and fellowship.

Milton Ritchie Hollyday
BERLIN – On March 22, 2009, Milton Ritchie Hollyday died.

 He was the son of the late Charles E. and Margaret Hollyday; beloved wife of Charlotte S. Hollyday; devoted father of Anne Smyth and her husband Frederick and Patricia Hollyday; loving step-father of Charlotte Martin and her husband Andrew, Ruth Lynn Elseroad and her husband S. Glenn, Linda Peer and her husband Anthony, Denise Phipps; and predeceased in death by his son, Charles Ridgely. He had three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Hollyday was born in Philadelphia and was a business owner of a construction company, Consolidated Masonry, for 42 years. He served in the Air Force during WWII. In 1990 he moved to Ocean Pines and joined the Community Church of Ocean Pines. He also was Vice-President of Habitat for Humanity of Berlin at one time.

Gerald P. Nye III (Jerry)

SALISBURY — Gerald P. Nye III (Jerry) died on March 20, 2009 at the age of 44 at the Coastal Hospice at the Lake of brain cancer.

He was the son of Lisi Ruczynski of Ocean Pines and Gerald P. Nye, Jr., of Lake Park, Fla. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Sen. Gerald P. and Marguerite Nye and Lila Maki, all of Chevy Chase, and his stepfather Narcy (Ski) Ruczynski of Ocean Pines.

He is survived by his parents and a daughter, Brittany Lauren Nye of Silver Spring; his brother, Christopher and Aimee Dunn; niece Madison Nicole Dunn of Frederick, Md.; uncle Richard J. Nye of Williamsport, Md.; uncle and aunt The Rev. John and Deborah Nye Corgan of West Hartford, Conn.; and many loving cousins and friends.

He grew up in Chevy Chase and graduated from Good Counsel High School in Olney. He spent the last 10 years living and loving life in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where he leaves many close friends.

A memorial celebration of his life will be held on April 18, 2009, 1-3 p.m. for his family and close friends of the family at Columbia Country Club, Conn. Ave, Chevy Chase, Md. Interment of his ashes will be at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery at a later date.
