Tammy Lynn Steininger
SNOW HILL – Tammy Lynn Steininger, age 47, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 at her home in Snow Hill.
Born in Lewes, Del. she was the daughter of Earl Greenwalt and his wife Peggy of Willards and Evelyn Hartsell and her husband Bob of Berlin.
She attended school in Berlin and worked for many years at the 59th Street 7-Eleven store in Ocean City.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Steininger of Snow Hill, and many aunts and cousins, all of Delaware. She was the granddaughter of Helen Truitt of Berlin and the late Harry Truitt and Marshall and Erma Greenwalt; she is also survived by her mother-in-law Ann Steininger.
Services were held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Worcester County Humane Society, PO Box 48, Berlin, Md. 21811. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
Mary Elizabeth Sanford
OCEAN CITY – Mary Elizabeth Sanford, age 77, died peacefully, Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 at her home in Ocean City.
Born in West Chester, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Preston J. Bounds and Mildred Nichols Bounds. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Sanford, Jr., in 1995.
Sanford had worked as a customer service representative for Delmarva Power Co. for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ocean City and had been a member of the Ocean City Senior Bowling league. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Ocean City Golf and Yacht Club.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kathie E. Fisher and her husband Kim of Ocean City and Ellen M. Williamson of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Jason Hearne and his wife Jennifer, Justin Hearne and his wife Kelly, Robbie Davenport and Megan Perry; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Ida Poteet
of Havre de Grace and Dolly Josephine Salancy of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Boyd Bounds of Salisbury; one nephew; and her former husband, R. Donald White of Princess Anne.

James Duncan McIntyre
POCOMOKE – James Duncan McIntyre, age 75, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Canada, he was the son of the late Colin and Fern Raymond McIntyre.
McIntyre had worked as a blacksmith and farmer for many years. He was a member of the U.S. Trotters Association, Cloverleaf Harness Association, Coast Guard Auxiliary, former Boy Scout Leader of Post #155 in Snow Hill and the Snow Hill Little League.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Cummiford McIntyre, and his children, James Duncan McIntyre, Jr. of Berlin, Jeffrey Dale McIntyre and his wife Linda of Mansfield, Ohio, Susan Sockriter of Salisbury, Shirley Bennett and her husband Homer of Tasley, Va. and Sharon McIntyre of Snow Hill. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Parks, in 1998. There are 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Earl McIntyre of Alberta, Canada, Larry McIntyre of Calgary, Canada, Ronnie McIntyre of Kingsville, Canada, and Foster McIntyre of Windsor, Canada; one sister Dorothy Berquist of Calgary, Canada; and many nieces and nephews.

BERLIN – Myrtle S. Matthews, age 88, died on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin.
Born in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Artie Somers and Mildred Stephens Somers. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Matthews.
Matthews is survived by her daughter, Gayle Peterson and her husband Eric of Centerville, Md; a sister, Vivian Ward; one grandson, Scott Middleton and his wife Lisa; and two great grandchildren, Grayson and Jordan Middleton.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in Berlin. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
Mary R. Luxenberg
OCEAN PINES – Mary R. Luxenberg, 82, formerly of Edgewood, Md., died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.
Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Wesley Jenkins and Margaret Erdman Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Seward.
Luxenberger was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Ocean Pines, VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Ocean City and an active member of the Ocean City Senior Center.
Luxenberger is survived by her husband, Clarence Luxenberger; one son, Christopher Luxenberger and wife, Claudia, of Forest Hill, Md.; three daughters, Mary Susan Sokolis and James of Bel Air, Md., Cathleen Davenport and husband, Thomas, of Ocean Pines and Carol Giddings and husband, Ronald, of Chester, Va; one sister, Margaret Howser of Pikesville, Md.; son-in-law, Jay Seward;16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild and another great-grandchild due in December.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Ocean Pines on Friday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. Friends may call at Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro.

George W.R. Marvel
SELBYVILLE – George "Bun" W.R. Marvel, 93, of Selbyville died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at his residence.
Born July 14, 1915, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late Charles J. and Catherine "Cassie" (Green) Marvel.
Marvel graduated from Georgetown High School in 1934. On March 23, 1940, he married Althea Pepper. Together, he and his wife operated a farm in Bayville. He was a member of Sound United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Imogene Thompson; grandson, Phillip Thompson and his wife, Jodi; two great-grandchildren, Gunnar and Kylie; and a sister, Margaret Peterson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 65 years in 2005.
