Alton Wade “Jack” Taylor
BERLIN – Alton Wade “Jack”, Taylor age 83, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 in Berlin.
Born in Berlin, he was the son of the late Joseph W. Taylor and Virginia Harmon Taylor. Taylor had worked as a builder and contractor. He had owned and operated Taylor Mowing Service with his son Lynn. He was a WWII Merchant Marine and was discharged from the United States Coast Guard. He was a lifetime member of Boggs-Disharoon American Legion Post #123 in Berlin. He had attended Bethany United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children, Joyce Taylor Dennis of Dagsboro; Diane Taylor Koppelman and her husband Mark of Ocean Pines; and Lesley Taylor Ashley and her husband Mark of Hebron. There are 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Cora Taylor of Berlin. He was preceded in death by his son, Lynn Wade Taylor, in 2008 and a grandson, Michael Dennis, Jr. in 1997.
A private funeral service for immediate family was held at the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin, Cremation followed and burial will be private at a future date.
