Bank Makes Promotions
BERLIN – Raymond M. Thompson, President and C.E.O. of Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company, has announced the following promotions:
Nancy Bunting has been promoted to Deposit Operations Officer. Bunting has been with Taylor Bank since April 1996. She was promoted to manager of the bank’s mid-Ocean City office in February of 1999. In August 2008, Bunting was relocated back to the main office where she is currently overseeing and assisting with deposit operations.
Casey Robinson has been promoted to Assistant Branch Manager at the 91st Street office. Robinson has been with the bank since his graduation from Stephen Decatur High School in 1996. Robinson has served as a teller, head teller and teller supervisor and has specialized in operations and customer service at the bank’s east Berlin, West Ocean City and main office in Berlin.
Scott Williams has been promoted to Management Trainee. Williams started his career with Taylor Bank in April 2006. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Salisbury University’s Perdue School of Business with a concentration in Management Information Systems. He is located at the bank’s main office in Berlin.
Employee Drawing Held
OCEAN CITY – The Harrison Group held its 22nd Annual Employee Prize Drawing on Sunday, Sept. 21. A total of $15,000 in cash plus a variety of other prizes were awarded.
All Harrison Group employees were asked to save their paycheck stubs for a three-month period and turn them in for the random prize drawing.
This year’s $5,000 winner was Craig Balster, Jr., who is employed as a desk clerk at the Quality Inn Boardwalk. Second prize of $3,000 was won by Katie Luff of Manana Mode Pool Bar and third prize of $2,000 went to Jessica Cooney of Harrison’s Harbor Watch Restaurant & Raw Bar.
Ten other lucky employees won $500 each. They included Sarah Hume of the Coral Reef Restaurant, Andrea Ramirez of the Holiday Inn Oceanfront, Anthonia Cazares and Brenda Ferguson of the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, Paula Moreno of the Quality Inn Boardwalk, Radu Martian of Reflections Restaurant, Thomas Brunner of Paul Revere Smorgasbord, Charles Boone of the Quality Inn Oceanfront, Tina Schmidt of the Atrium Café, and Lisa Mays of Harrison’s Harbor Watch Restaurant & Raw Bar.
New Business Opens
BERLIN – Nationally Certified Massage Therapist Kim Poole announced the opening of MidAtlantic Medical Massage serving clients on Maryland’s eastern shore. MidAtlantic Medical Massage offers therapeutic massage including Swedish, Trigger Point/Neuromuscular Therapy and Hot Stone Massage for injury and illness rehabilitation and stress relief.
According to Poole, medical massage focuses on pathology and is prescribed by a physician to address a specific diagnosis. With a special focus on Oncology Massage, clients with cancer in every stage of disease (recently diagnosed, currently in treatment, survivorship) may experience the benefits of medical massage on their journey back towards wellness.
Services are by appointment only and available both in office, located at Optimal Health Chiropractic in Berlin, and in home. Sessions may be scheduled individually or in conjunction with chiropractic care. Physician referrals accepted for insurance reimbursement.
Store Plans Holiday Event
WEST OCEAN CITY – Harry and David in the Ocean City Factory Outlets will host its annual “Columbus Weekend Pear Festival & Tasting” Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11 and 12 from 1-5 p.m.
The specialty food and gift store will offer samplings of one of their signature products, Royal Riviera Pears. Attendees can go to the outlets website coupon page for $5 off a $25 purchase coupon valid during the holiday weekend events.
