OCEAN CITY – Ocean City police this week are looking for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a young woman on the beach near 109th Street early last Friday morning.
The 19-year-old Salisbury woman was collecting shells on the beach near 109th Street around 5:30 a.m. last Friday morning when an unidentified man grabbed her from behind and threw her to the ground. The suspect, who was reportedly much larger than the victim, then sat on her chest, forced her mouth open with his hands and inserted his penis, according to police reports.
As the victim was struggling with the suspect, she heard another man yell, “What the hell are you doing?” All of the sudden, the unknown man tackled the suspect off the victim, who got up and ran back to her condominium, according to police.
The suspect is described as a white male, 24-30 years old, roughly six feet tall and 250-280 pounds with an athletic build, bald with no facial hair. At the time of the attack, the suspect was wearing a black polo shirt, long khaki pants and a “Mardi Gras” type mask. He was also wearing large fake diamond earrings and had a gap in his front teeth.
The man who came to the victim’s assistance is described as a white male, roughly 24-26 years old, wearing a white T-shirt and khaki shorts. Investigators believe it is possible the two men are acquainted.
