George William Hund
OCEAN PINES – George William Hund, age 75, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at his home in Ocean Pines.
Born in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of the late George Hund and Esther Fogelin Hund.
Hund was a resident of Bogota, N.J. for 61 years before retiring from his job with the U.S. Postal Service and moving to Ocean Pines. He loved to garden and was given much recognition by the Ocean Pines community for his beautiful gardening skills. He was truly devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Ann Hund; two sons, William G. Hund and his wife Mary and Steven M. Hund and his wife Cara; a daughter, Ann Hund; a sister, Dorothy A. Hayes; and five grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Cameron, Brandon and Aidan.
A Memorial Service and Interment will be held at the Community Church of Ocean Pines on Saturday, June 28 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, Md. 21802. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
Gerald Carson West
SALISBURY – Gerald Carson West, age 63, died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Otha West and Elizabeth Hassell West.
He is survived by a brother, Robert West and his wife Joann; a lifetime friend, Hugh Lovell; sister-in-law, Mabel West; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard O. West, Sr.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
Laird S. Osman, Jr.
SELBYVILLE – Laird S. Osman, Jr., 67, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Wilkinsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Laird S. Sr. and Harriet McIntosh Osman. He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Osman of Selbyville; a son, James E. Osman, Sr. and his wife Lisa; two grandchildren, James E. Osman, Jr. and Zachary Schreiber; and his mother-in-law, Phyllis Kusiak.
Osman was a project manager for Westinghouse/Northrup Gruman and was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Ocean City and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 9053, Ocean City. Services were held

Richard W. Davis
PITTSVILLE – Richard W. Davis, 78, died Sat., June 21, 2008 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Willards, he was the son of Walter and Agnes Parsons Davis. He is survived by his companion of 17 years, Gladys Moore of Pittsville; a daughter, Robin D. Davis of Frankford, Del.; a brother, Charles E. Davis of Berlin; and a sister, Dorothy Combs of Berlin. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Cory Davis and several nieces and nephews. Services were held.
Norris Wayne Bailey
PITTSVILLE – Norris Wayne Bailey, 62, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at PRMC in Salisbury.
Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late George William and Ellen Collins Bailey. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn P. Bailey of Pittsville; a son, Kevin Wayne Bailey of Pittsville; a daughter, Tracy Elaine Saucedo and her husband Jose of Hallwood, Va.; and two grandchildren, Adrian and Jose Benjamin Saucedo.
Bailey had been a farmer all of his life. Services were held.
Page W. Kelley
SALISBURY – Page Wilson Kelley, a retired barber, died after a long illness Sunday, June 22 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury. He was 81.
Kelley was born and raised in New Church, Va. He was the son of the late Elmer and Stella Kelley. He attended Accomack County schools. He enlisted and served in the Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a survey technician at the former Naval Aviation Ordnance Testing Station at Wallops Island, Va.
Kelley later attended Barber School in Pennsylvania and began his career “cutting hair” at the former Wicomico Hotel at the One Plaza East building in Salisbury. Kelley’s more than 50-year career continued at Red’s Barber Shop on Baptist Street. He became the proprietor of “Kelley’s Barber Shop” at the same location when Reds Martin retired. Kelley enjoyed “holding court” in the shop with his son and business partner, Page W. “Biff” Kelley, Jr. The shop was a downtown fixture, and one of the last “old-fashioned” barber shops, complete with the spinning barber pole out front. The 1998 closing of this downtown landmark was chronicled by Brice Stump in the Daily Times. Mr. Kelley was unable to fully retire because loyal customers still demanded “basic haircuts” at his backyard ‘retirement’ barber shop.
He is survived by the “love of his life”, Barbara Regina Hooks Kelley, whom he met and married in 1950. Their only child, Page W. Kelley, Jr., died in November 1995. Also surviving are his sister, Ann Kelley Stephens and her husband Tom of Atlantic, Virginia, and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. on Friday, June 27 at the Church of Christ on Old Ocean City Road in Salisbury, Md. Internment will be in the Wicomico Memorial Park on Schumaker Drive, immediately following the memorial service.
