BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity wrestling team stayed on a big roll last week, winning 12 of 14 individual matches to beat visiting Reservoir High, 60-9, last Friday.
The Seahawks have been dominating all year as a team and as individuals in their respective weight classes. Last Friday, they turned in another dominating performance with the easy win over Reservoir. The Seahawks hit the road this week for a match with Atholton of Howard County in the state Class 4A-3A regional duals as a precursor for the Bayside-District 8 championships and the state tournaments still to come.
Against Reservoir last week, five Seahawk grapplers won their matches by pin including Danny Banks at 130 pounds, Danny Kominos at 152 pounds, Danny Miller at 189 pounds, Dylan Drew at 215 pounds and James Reid at 285 pounds.
In the other Decatur individual victories, Devon Bataille (103) won by decision, Corey Tobias (112) won by technical fall (t-fall), Sean McGarry (125) won by t-fall, Bernie McGarry (135) won by t-fall, Skylar Snead (140) won by forfeit, Josh Bargar (145) won by decision, and Bryce Smith (160) won by decision.
