BERLIN- Worcester Prep standout scholar-athlete Caroline Wyatt last week signed a letter of intent to attend school and play lacrosse at Fairfield University in Connecticut next year, joining a long list of Mallards taking their games to the next level.
Wyatt, who led the Worcester varsity girls’ team in scoring last year as a junior, was recruited by Division I Fairfield and its coach Beth Loffredo this summer and agreed to sign on with the school after falling in love with the Connecticut campus and its lacrosse program. The standout soccer and lacrosse player was named to the Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference (ESIAC) All-Conference team in both sports last year as a junior.
“Caroline has been a starter on the Worcester Prep women’s lacrosse team for the past three years and will be an outstanding player in college,” said Coach Carol Hartnett. “She was recruited by Fairfield coach Beth Loffredo to make an instant impact on the Stag’s women’s lacrosse program.”
In addition to her achievements on the sports fields at Worcester, Wyatt excels in the classroom as a member of the National Art Honor Society and has won an award for her outstanding work in Algebra II. She is also an active member in her class organization and served on the Prom Committee. Wyatt is also an outstanding volunteer on events such as the Light the Night program, referees for the Beach Lacrosse program and coaches youth soccer.
