Bank Promotions

BERLIN – Raymond M. Thompson, President and C.E.O. of Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company, has announced the following promotions:

Joy Fink has been named Assistant manager of the bank’s main office in Berlin.  Fink, a native of Wallkill, N.Y., joined the bank in 2005. She has worked in the Ocean Pines and West Ocean City offices as a Management Trainee. She’s a graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a degree in marketing. She received her M.B.A. from St. Bonaventure in 2001.

Lee Chisholm has been promoted to Credit Analyst and is assigned to the main office. Chisholm joined the bank in 2004 as a seasonal employee and was promoted to Management Trainee in October 2006. A native of Pocomoke City, he graduated from Frostburg State University with a degree in economics and a minor in business.

Jennifer Conner, who joined he bank in 2005 as a Management Trainee, has been named Product Specialist. In her new role she will be responsible for the implementation, oversight and sale of the bank’s ACH and CDARS (Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service). Conner is a graduate of Salisbury University with a degree in Marketing and Communications.

New Rental Agent

BETHANY – The Bayside Signature Resort Rental Program through Seacoast Realty has announced the addition of rental agent Marylou Roberts to the team.

With four years of experience in the real estate industry including an additional two years in the rental industry, Roberts’ key role will be focusing on reservations for the Bayside Signature Resort Rental Program.

“I am excited to be part of the Seacoast Realty team. They have such an outstanding reputation, as well as a high expectation for customer service. As for having the opportunity to be apart of an upscale resort community, this is just a step above,” said Roberts.

The Bayside Signature Resort Rental Program through Seacoast Realty manages vacation rentals for over 45 homes, condos and townhomes in the Bayside Fenwick community with all homes following a minimum guideline for furnishing and décor.

“Marylou has energy and enthusiasm for this business that is contagious. With her previous experience, customer service skills combined with a winning personality, she will certainly be an asset to the Bayside Signature Resort Rental Program,” said Rental Manager Krista Valliant.

Project Breaks Ground

BERLIN – Local homebuilder Arcadia Development LLC announced this week it has broken ground on Arcadia Village, a new residential community in Newark.

The first five homes in Arcadia Village are currently under construction. It is anticipated they will be completed and available for sale mid-summer.

Arcadia Village will grow to become a community of 41 single-family homes ranging in size from 1,300 to 2,500-plus square feet with lot sizes from 7,000 to 13,000 square feet. The community is located on a private cul-de-sac west of Route 113 in Newark.

Arcadia Village is bordered by permanently protected woodland and the Newark community park.

“Our vision at Arcadia Village is to offer working families and retirees of Worcester County affordable new homes in an idyllic community,” said Robert Kitchens, project manager for Arcadia Village. “We envision a picturesque community that offers beautifully crafted homes with cottage style details and an appealing price tag.”

Arcadia Village will begin selling lot and home packages upon the completion of the first homes in mid-summer.

OCEAN CITY – Gregg Holland, branch vice president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Ocean City 120th Street office, reported this week that Kathy Panco was the top listing individual and Jeanette Mekolon was the top sales individual for May.

"Both of these agents are perennial top producers year after year and have been a significant part of the CBRB 120th Street team for over twenty years," said Holland.

OCEAN CITY – Ed Wehnert, branch vice president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s 52nd Street office, has announced that for May, Peck Miller was the top individual sales associate and Rick Meehan and Katy Durham were the top selling sales team.

Suzanah Cain was the top individual listing associate and Rick Meehan and Katy Durham were also the top listing team.

Cathy Vlcek was the top individual settlement associate and Rick Meehan and Katy Durham were the top settlement team.

Producer Leads

BERLIN – Atlantic/Smith, Cropper & Deeley Insurance Brokers has announced Ray Matheu as the top commercial insurance producer for May. 

With more than 40 years of insurance experience, Matheu has been with the agency since 1981 and specializes in writing property and casualty insurance for local and regional business customers. He is an underwriter for Lloyds of London. 

Matheu is an active member of the local community and is involved in the Salisbury Rotary Club, the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce and Maple Shade Youth & Family Services. He lives in Salisbury with his wife, Isabel. 

Donna Harrison and Donald Fentress, account executives, also received special recognition for their production for the month of May. Harrison specializes in life and health insurance and resides near Easton. Fentress is a specialist in commercial insurance and resides in Berlin.

PRMC Office Addition

BERLIN – Angela L Gibbs, MD was recently granted associate staff membership and will join the Peninsula Regional Medical Center Primary Care Family Medicine office in Berlin  on July 2, 2007.

Specializing in Family Medicine, Gibbs received her medical degree from the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Md. She completed an internship in Family Practice at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Ga. and a residency in Family Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga. Gibbs most recently served as the sole daytime physician at Columbia County Prompt Care, a walk-in Acute Care Clinic in Evans, Ga.      

Board-certified in Family Medicine, Gibbs will join Drs. Peter Abbott, Deborah Conran and Adebowale Prest at the Berlin Family Medicine office, where new patients ages two and above are currently being accepted.

Group Among Top In Md.

OCEAN CITY –The Mark Fritschle Group of Re/Max Premier Properties was named among the Top 5 Sales Associate Teams in Maryland. This award is based on awardable commissions for the first quarter of 2007.

Membership Earned

OCEAN CITY – Reene Oettinger, a registered representative with Old Dominion Investment Corp. in Ocean City, has earned membership in the 2007 Leadership Council for Planco, a wholesaler of investment and insurance products for The Hartford. Graduate Joins Team

BERLIN – Chris Riley, a 2007 graduate of Worcester Prep, has signed on with the Mark Fristchle Group of Re/Max Premier Properties for the summer season.

Riley will be teaming up with his father, Terry Riley, and partner, Chris Jett.

Chris Riley will attend the College of Charleston this fall, where he will be pursuing a degree in bio-chemistry.  Until that time arrives, He will be getting his newly licensed feet wet in the local real estate game.
