Russell Wesley Hunt

BISHOPVILLE – Russell Wesley Hunt Galyon, 21, of Bishopville, died Monday, March 5, 2007 in the Los Angeles area when he was struck by a vehicle after exiting his car to inspect possible tire damage.

Born July 26, 1985 in Salisbury, he was a long-time resident of Ocean City. He was the son of Edward and Rebecca Galyon of Bishopville.

He moved to California in January to take advantage of job opportunities in the San Diego area. He was very excited about his recent move and was looking forward to spending time surfing on the West Coast. He was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School and attended college at Virginia Wesleyan. He was an avid ice hockey player and fan, and while in high school played in a Delaware ice hockey league.

He was a member of Atlantic United Methodist Church and was active in the church’s youth activities and ministries. While in high school, he participated in the Four Corners Native American Ministry and was moved by the experience and the opportunity to work with Native American children.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Lloyd, of New York City; his loving aunt Martha Galyon Hester and her husband Robert; an uncle, Richard Edwards and his wife Rita; and a number of cousins and friends who loved him dearly.

Services were held.

The family suggests contributions in his name be made to the youth ministries of Atlantic United Methodist Church, 105 Fourth Street, Ocean City, Md. 21842.

Elizabeth Peddicord

OCEAN PINES – Elizabeth Peddicord (nee Constantine), died March 8, 2007.

She was the beloved wife of 62 years to Roger Peddicord and cherished mother of James "Spinner" Peddicord and his wife Darlene, Debra Ann Crawford and Christine Lewis and her husband Ronald. She is survived by three grandchildren, Damon, Darius and Brittany; two great-grandchildren; a brother, John W. Constantine; and a sister, Shirley Totts. She was preceded in death by brothers, Fred, Howard, Eugene and Edward and a sister, Louise Moser.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 18 from 2-6 p.m. at the Commander Hotel in Ocean City. Tributes may be sent to the family at
