BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity basketball team enjoyed another solid week, beating Gunston, 41-14, last Friday before dismantling Chincoteague at home on Monday.

Against Gunston, Molly Marshall scored 10 points and added 11 rebounds, while Sophie Brennan scored nine points and Meredith Smith scored eight and added 11 rebounds. Against Chincoteague at home on Monday, Worcester got up early on the Ponies and never looked back.

The Mallards led 18-0 with three minutes left in the second quarter before Chincoteague got on the board with a free throw. Worcester led 22-1 at the half and 27-3 at the end of three quarters. The competition gets tougher this afternoon when the Mallards host Salisbury School in their last game before the winter holiday. They return to action on February 6 with a road game against the Dragons.
