BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity basketball team wrapped up a perfect first half of the season last week with a 35-32 win over old rival Saints Peter and Paul.
The Mallards finished off the first half going into the holiday break with a perfect 7-0 record. In the opening stretch, the Worcester girls have beaten Holly Grove, Greenwood Mennonite, Chincoteague, Salisbury Christian, Greenwood again, Holly Grove again and Saints Peter and Paul, 35-32, last week.
Against the Sabres, Molly Marshall led the Mallards with 11 points, while Sophie Brennan and Meredith Smith each chipped in six points. The Worcester girls are now off until January 4 when they will host Delmarva Christian for the first of four straight home games. Also included in the stretch are home games against Saints Peter and Paul, Gunston and Chincoteague.
