Berlin Pop Warner Remains Unbeaten

BERLIN- The Berlin Seahawks’ Pop Warner Midgets team beat Sussex Central, 16-6, last weekend to remain unbeaten with one game to play and clinch a berth in the regional championships next month in New Jersey.

The Seahawk Midgets beat Sussex Central, 16-6, last Saturday to improve to 6-0-1 on the season. Their only non-win of the season came way back in early September when they tied Laurel, 13-13, in the opener. Since then, the Midget Seahawks have been dominating, outscoring their last six opponents by a combined 143 to 61, for an average output of 24 points per game. In its last six games, the Seahawks have beaten Sussex Central, 16-6; Milford, 21-20; Wicomico, 28-7; Smyrna, 36-7; Wicomico, 33-14; and Laurel, 35-7.

Berlin remained unbeaten with a road game against Milford set for this weekend in the regular season finale. At 6-0-1, the Seahawks have already clinched to Cape Henlopen Pop Warner championship regardless of the outcome at Milford this weekend. Three teams, Sussex Central, Milford and Smyrna, are tied for second with identical 4-3 records. With the conference championship in the bag, Berlin has already earned a berth in the Pop Warner regional championships and will play in Raritan, N.J. on November 17.
