Seahawks Top Bennett in Double OT

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's girls' varsity soccer team won for just the second time in the season in dramatic fashion on Tuesday, beating previously unbeaten James M.Bennett, 2-1, in double overtime. The Seahawks struggled out of the gate this season, dropping their first four games, but have shown signs of improvement recently. Winning two of their last three. Decatur's Woes Continue with 35-7 Loss

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's varsity football team fell to visiting Kent Island, 35-7, last week, continuing a tough stretch against Bayside North powerhouses while falling to 1-4 on the season. When the 2010 schedule came out, the Seahawks likely knew their season would be defined by a three-game stretch against traditional Bayside North division opponents in late September and early October, and thus far the worst case scenario has played out. Three Unbeatens Top Flag Standings

OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department's Fall Flag Football League continued this week with a few familiar teams- Schell Brothers-Greene Turtle, Seacrets and Buxy's Salty Dog starting to pull away from the pack somewhat in the early part of the season. After three weeks, Schell Brothers, Seacrets and Buxy's Salty Dog are each undefeated at 3-0 and sit atop the Fall Flag Football League standings. Worcester Girls Remain Unbeaten

BERLIN- Worcester Prep's girls' varsity soccer team remained unbeaten this week, beating Salisbury School, 7-0, on the road on Tuesday to improve to 6-0 on the season. Kristen Shriver led the Mallards with four goals, while Katelin Talbert scored two goals and Maddie DiNardo added a single tally. With the win over the Dragons on Tuesday, Worcester improved it's season record to 6-0 and continued its early to mid-season dominance.
