OC Researching Taxi Franchising

December 11, 2009 - Featured Story
OCEAN CITY •€' After the list of potential cost cutting and revenue enhancement options was released last week, one item in particular reportedly sparked a number of calls down to City Hall: the idea of establishing a taxi franchise. Thoughts From The Publisher's Desk

December 11, 2009 - Between The Lines
Ocean City's beach will look quite different next year with the advent of cabanas being sold by some beach stand operators. These will not be widespread as certain limitations were placed on them, but they could be popular among some beach-goers, specifically families with young kids who need to be shielded from the sun. What was interesting to me was the City Council approved these things despite the Ocean City Beach Patrol's objections. Captain Butch Arbin was specifically concerned about how...READ MORE

Make Holidays Brighter With Tax Promise

It may be a little premature, but we think it's time for all local governments as well as the folks in Annapolis to pledge property taxes will not be raised next year to help balance budgets. With current fiscal year shortages a reality for some and future projections being presented weekly, the severity of the financial mess facing local governments with their next budget cycles is becoming fairly clear. There's no question now that the policy of 'preparing for the worst, hoping for the best'...READ MORE
