Many students at Showell Elementary became Santa's helpers when they celebrated Giving Day last week by bringing in new, unwrapped toys and books. For the 21st consecutive year, the Ocean City Elks and Knights of Columbus sponsored the Annual Hoop Shoot/Free Throw Contest, which included qualifiers from five local schools in Worcester County. Worcester Preparatory School hosted the event, which took place on Saturday, Jan. 5.
