BERLIN – A second suspect wanted in connection with the armed robberies of convenience stores in Ocean Pines and Pittsville in August was taken into custody this week and remains behind bars in the Worcester County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
Around 1 a.m. on Aug. 25, two masked men, one of whom was brandishing a handgun, entered the Shore Stop on Route 589 in the Pines, flashed the gun and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk complied with the demands and the suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. About a half an hour later, the same suspects entered the Shore Stop store in Pittsville and robbed the clerk at gunpoint.
Last week, Worcester County Bureau of Investigation (WCBI) detectives were able to connect Jordan Criner, 23, of Berlin, to the armed robberies in the area.
This week, WCBI detectives arrested Keenen Hassan O’Brian-White, 19, of Salisbury, and charged him with robbery, first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault and numerous charges related to the use of a handgun in the commission of a felony and a violent crime.
