Stephen Decatur High School honored its final fall season "VIP of the Game" between quarters of the Nov. 2 football game versus Snow Hill. The lone recipient was senior Joe Iacona, who was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the school and community and for exemplifying the principles of "The Decatur Way." Iacona was presented a lifetime pass to school events and is pictured with program coordinator Amy Fenzel-Mergott.

Snow Hill Elementary School's Judy Center hosted a “Donuts for Dads” event in the school cafeteria. Pre-K and kindergarten dads were invited to come share a snack with their students and help them put together a “#1 Star Dad” project. In conjunction with the Ocean City Recreation Department and NAYS (National Alliance for Youth Sports), Ocean City Elementary School participated in the Global Gear Drive. Along with the numerous equipment donations, the faculty and staff of OCES contributed monetarily to the cause. Worcester Prep students who received scholarships from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute were, front, Claire Brown, Lydia Pritchard and Sophia Tomaselli; back, Libby Truitt, Sarah Freund, Jenn Karsli, Lorenzo deJesus, Katherine Pavlos and Alissa Talbert. With the students is their Advanced Placement Biology teacher Tom Westcott. The Ocean City-Berlin Leo Club has installed new officers. The Leo Club is a youth-based group sponsored by the Ocean City Lions Club and is based at Stephen Decatur High School. Every year the club assists the OC Lions in raising awareness and funds for their many eyesight programs. Also, every year the Leo Club helps fund the National Lions Leader Dog for the Blind program.
