Mallards Pluck Herons, 5-1

10/19/2012 | By Shawn J. Soper, Sports Editor

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity soccer team picked up its winning ways again last week, beating Salisbury Christian and Gunston after dropping a contest to St. Andrew’s two weeks ago.

The Mallards beat Salisbury Christian, 6-0, last Monday and followed that up with a 4-1 win over Gunston last Friday at home. Against Gunston, Worcester Prep got goals from Meredith Smith, Lilly DiNardo, Frankie Willing and Amanda Gabriel. The Mallards wrap up their regular season at home on Monday against Saints Peter and Paul and will have revenge on their minds. The Sabres beat Worcester, 2-1, in overtime way back in the second game of the season.
