BERLIN- The Decatur boys’ varsity soccer team beat Wicomico, 4-1, last week to end a two-game losing streak and improve to 3-2 on the season.
The Seahawks had plenty of firepower against the Indians last Wednesday in a convincing 4-1 win over the Indians. Nick White led the attack with two goals, while Zak Hoshino and Sunny Aroh each added single tallies. Sean Colgan led the Seahawk defense with eight saves in the net.
The win over Wicomico got the Seahawks back on the winning track after two tough losses to Easton, 5-1, and Queen Anne’s, 1-0. Decatur started the season with a 2-0 mark after beating Kent Island and North Caroline before the two-game skid evened their record. With the 4-1 win over Wicomico, the Seahawks now stand at 3-2 with a game against county rival Pocomoke this week played too late to be included in this edition.
Decatur starts a stretch of three straight home games against tough opponents on Monday against Mardela at Seahawk Stadium. The home stretch also includes games against Crisfield and Washington next week.
