The Inaugural End of Summer Festival put on by the Ocean Pines Parks and Recreation Department featured two bands and was held Sept. 1 in White Horse Park. The Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines-Ocean City sold hot dogs and cookies at the event to raise funds for its scholarship fund. Putting the final touches on a Memorial Service for Gertrude “Gerty” Apple are, from left, Donald Klein, Veronica Kahn and Grayce Cohen. Apple passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 21. Her funeral service and burial were in Olney, Md. Eastern Shore Mission of Mercy (MOM) has announced the receipt of a $5,000 grant from the Arthur W. Perdue Foundation.
