BERLIN- Berlin’s Colton Edmunds turned in a great performance at the North American Final for the Hershey’s Track and Field Games last weekend, finishing first among competitors from all over the country in the standing long jump for boys 11-12.
After competing in local, regional and state events throughout the summer, Edmunds was part of a contingent representing Maryland in the annual Hershey Track and Field Games last weekend in Hershey, Pa. While he competes in numerous events, Edmunds was chosen to participate in the standing long jump event as athletes area only allowed to compete in one event.
The competitors came from all over the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Edmunds finished first among the 13 competitors from eight regions in his event, jumping 8’3” from a standing position. Edmunds was seeded fourth going into the event.
