BERLIN- While Stephen Decatur’s varsity wrestling team was winning its eighth straight Bayside Conference championship last weekend, the program’s future stars were collecting more than their fair share of championship hardware in the Maryland State Wrestling Association’s East Region Novice Tournament in Baltimore.

Dozens of Junior Seahawks competed in the state tournament at Loyola-Blakefield High School in Baltimore last Sunday and the future Decatur wrestling stars collected five individual championships, finished second in six other divisions and weight classes and placed in several others.
