BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's girls' varsity basketball team got back in the win column for only the second time this season, beating host James M. Bennett, 38-27, in a low scoring game on Tuesday.
Wins have been tough to come by this season for the young Seahawks, who entered Tuesday's game against the Clippers with just one win. Decatur beat county rival Snow Hill, 39-37, in the Coleman Holiday Tournament back on December 30 for its only other victory. Nonetheless, the Seahawks have continued to improve despite the standings and earned a hard-fought win over Bennett on Tuesday. Virginia Harris led Decatur with 15 points, while Leann Flounlacker pitched in 13. The Seahawks take on tough county rival Pocomoke at home tonight at 7 p.m.
