BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity volleyball team was rewarded for another successful season this week with a number-three seed in the state Class 3A-East region tournament.
The Seahawks, who finished the regular season with an impressive 12-3, record earned a number-three seed and a first-round bye, and will host the winner of the first round matchup between Reservoir and Annapolis. Lurking on the same side of the 3A-East bracket as Decatur is old rival Bennett, which is seeded second. Decatur and Bennett split two regular season matches, with the Seahawks winning 3-0 back on September 26 and the Clippers getting revenge with a 3-2 win on October 12. River Hill is the top seed in the 3A-East region.
