Three Arrested After Brawl In Berlin

BERLIN - Three Berlin residents were arrested and charged last week with a variety of offenses from first-degree assault to resisting arrest after a donnybrook at a Bay Street apartment complex.

On Oct. 20, Berlin Police responded to a residence on Bay Street for a reported fight in progress. The investigation revealed one man, George Nock, Jr., 26, of Berlin, had struck another man, identified as Damar Collins, 20, also of Berlin, in the head with a large wooden board and attempted to strike several other individuals with the same weapon.

While police were attempting to arrest Nock, the man struck in the head with the board, Collins, interfered with the officers to the point the arrest could not be affected. When Collins was told he was under arrest for interfering, Collins spit in the face of an officer and ultimately had to be shot with a tazer to be controlled.

In the meantime, Collins' mother, Sharon Collins, 39, of Berlin, interceded on her son's behalf and was also arrested for failing to obey a lawful order and interfering with an arrest. All three were taken before a court commissioner. Nock was charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct and was held on a $10,000 bond. Damar Collins was charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest and failure to obey a lawful order and was held on a $5,000 bond. Sharon Collins was charged with failure to obey a lawful order and interfering with an arrest and was released on her own recognizance.
