BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity baseball team special season continued this week with a handful of wins to improve to 11-1 on the season.
The Seahawks beat Pocomoke, 28-1, and Mardela, 10-0, last week to stay on a major roll. Decatur hit the road on Tuesday and beat Crisfield, 14-5. Mike O’Neill was strong on the mound, pitching six innings to record the win and also helped his own cause with two hits. Steve Ruggiere tripled and drove in two runs, while Connor Molloy added two hits.
With the wins, Decatur improved its record to 11-1, its only blemish coming on a 4-0 loss to conference rival back on April 11. The Seahawks will have a chance to avenge that loss next Wednesday when they face the Clippers at home, likely with a share of the conference title on the line.
