Seahawk Wrestlers Continue to Roll

1/23/2009 | By Shawn J. Soper, Sports Editor

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's varsity wrestling team continues to dominate this season, after thrashing Kent County, 68-3, last weekend reach a perfect 8-0 record with a big non-conference match coming up tomorrow night.

The Seahawks have been manhandling opponents again this season, picking up where they left off on last year's state dual meet championship. The latest victim was Kent County, which lost to Decatur on their home mat last Friday, 68-3. Before that, the Seahawks beat North Dorchester, 64-9, last Wednesday and Wicomico, 65-3, back on January 2.

Things will likely get a little tougher for Decatur tomorrow night when they travel across the bridge to face a tough Reservoir team bent on revenge. The Seahawks beat Reservoir, 60-9, last year on their way to the state dual meet championship, winning 12 of the 14 matches.
