OCEAN CITY - Police believe they have arrested three men suspected of vandalizing more than 30 resort properties and committing as many as 100 acts of malicious destruction.
Early Monday morning, June 9, Ocean City Police Officer First Class Earl Campbell and his K-9 partner Charlie responded to the area of Plover Drive in reference to suspicious activity in the area.
Campbell located three male suspects tampering with a moped. Campbell was able to apprehend one person, Michael David Levin, 19, of Baltimore, while the other two suspects fled from the area on foot.
Additional Ocean City police officers responded to the area to assist in locating the other two suspects. PFC Frank Soscia apprehended the second suspect, Jerrell Jaz Dawson, 19, of Pikesville, and Campbell and Charlie located the third suspect in the 45th Street area. After two brief foot chases, Justin William Majoue, 18, of Columbia, was apprehended as well.
According to police, witnesses reported the group was seen casing the Plover Drive area and was observed attempting to steal a moped, scooter and a miniature motorcycle in the area.
The three have each been charged with burglary, trespassing and theft-related offenses.
