Body Found Floating Near Herring Creek Bridge

BERLIN — Maryland State Police are investigating the discovery of a body early Wednesday morning in Worcester County.

Shortly after 12:15 a.m., two people in a boat were traveling along the Herring Creek when they discovered the body of a male floating face down under the Herring Creek Bridge. The boaters brought the body to shore and called 911.

The victim, who has not yet been positively identified, was declared deceased at the scene. According to a preliminary investigation, there are no signs of foul play.

The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy will be conducted.

The incident remains under investigation.
