Storm Threats Scrub 58th Labor Day Tourney

OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Marlin Club this week wasted no time canceling the 58th Annual Labor Day White Marlin Tournament with the threat of tropical storms all weekend creating rough seas inshore and off along with high winds.

Ocean City Marlin Club officials announced around mid-day on Wednesday the 58th Annual Labor Day White Marlin Tournament scheduled to officially begin on Friday and run through Sunday would be cancelled and no immediate plans for rescheduling were announced. All week, club officials were monitoring the progress of a couple tropical depressions, but when Tropical Depression 9 became Tropical Storm Hermine on Wednesday, the decision was made to pull the plug on the event this year.
