OCEAN CITY — Shirley Patricia Ziegler Brenner passed peacefully in her home at the young age of 94 on June 26, 2016.

Lovingly known as Tootz and Grams, family and friends gathered to aid in her final journey. Born in Loch Haven, Pa. to Leroy David Ziegler and Margaret Brungard Ziegler, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert N. Brenner, Jr, Colonel, US Army, and her daughter, Suzanne Brenner Haslam. She is survived by her son, Robert N. Brenner III; daughter in law, Kimberley A. Brenner; and her granddaughter, Summer J Brenner, all of Ocean City.

She graduated from Williamsport High School, class of 1941, then attended Lycoming Community College. During World War II, she worked for the Veterans Administration. Thereafter, the family traveled extensively while in the military, spending years in Central and South America and settling in Baltimore County in 1958.

In addition to raising her family there, she owned and operated a business, One Plus One, with her daughter. She participated in community activities including annual variety shows, fund raisers and advocacy for charitable organizations, politics, the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts. She also found time to pursue a career with Geico Insurance Co. that spanned 20 years with her retiring in 1988 as its Human Resources Manager, San Diego office.

Relocating to Ocean City, she opened and operated several insurance businesses including ABBA Bail Bonds with her son. She also operated an antique and collectible business, Treasures by Patrice. Her passions included traveling, dancing, and animal rescue.

Patricia’s final words were, “Thank everyone I have met and known for contributing to the wonderful life adventure I have enjoyed.” Protect our Republic! Pray and vote so as to provide a future for our children and America.

Mary Ann Posluszny Boring

OCEAN CITY — Mary Ann Posluszny Boring of Ocean Pines passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 18, 2016.

She was 64 years old at the time of passing. Her death followed a multi-year struggle with breast cancer. She was born in Pittston, Pa. in 1951, the daughter of Marion and Emanuel Posluszny. She served in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1976, where she met her husband Nate Boring in San Antonio, Texas, whom she married in 1976. Most of her Air Force career was spent in the Air Force Hospital in Weisbaden, Germany, and was the first female medic to work in the Emergency Department there. Her working career included positions in retail sales, the hospitality industry, and more recently as the receptionist for a well-regarded law firm in Annapolis from which she retired in 2014.

She is survived by her parents, her devoted husband, son Brian and his wife Leah of Fallston, Md., and granddaughters Frankie Rose and Annie Campbell, who were clearly the joy of her life. Her surviving siblings are JoAnn Brauer, Tom Posluszny, Pat Sawko and David Posluszny. She was tragically predeceased by her son Jeremy in 2007. Her life can be summed up as determined, courageous and kind.

Betty Lou May

WILMINGTON, N.C, — Betty Lou May died peacefully at home surrounded by her two daughters, Christine May LaPratt of Jacksonville, N.C. and Corinne May Habel of Sydney, Australia.

Betty was proud to be a special education teacher and received her Masters Degree in English at Kean College.  She was an active member of her church community in Westfield N.J. and Ocean City.

In addition to her daughters, she is survived by her sons-in-law, William F. LaPratt and Simon Habel, and nine grandchildren, Bill, Sarah, India, Sage, Tripp, Chance, Sophia, Lily and Finn.

EDGEWATER — Scott Russell Bunting, 47, a resident of Turkey Point Island in Edgewater, Md. for eight years and previously of Davidsonville, Md., died suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 21 at his home due to heart failure.

Born in Berlin on Aug. 21, 1969, Scott graduated from the Worcester Country School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Duke University. He owned and operated Bunting Horticultural Sales.

Scott is survived by his wife of 20 years, Hilary Bunting; his children, Carly (20), Olivia (18), Wyatt (14) and Charlotte Bunting (9), all of Edgewater; his parents, Paula Hastings (Gerald) Bunting and Gerald Timmons (Paula Young) Bunting; and his siblings, Tim (Kelly) Bunting, Shawn (Shannon) Bunting and Summer Bunting (Madison) Dyer.
Friends are invited to celebrate Scott’s life on Friday, Aug. 26 from 11 a.m. until his funeral service begins at noon at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, 710 Ridgely Ave., Annapolis, Md. Interment will be private.
