Mallards Sweep Pair, Run Streak To Seven

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s boys’ varsity lacrosse team ran its winning streak to seven this week with a pair of wins over Indian River and Delmarva Christian.

Last Friday, the Mallard beat visiting Indian River, 15-6. Wyatt Richins led the offense with a whopping seven goals while George Martin added two. Back in action on the road on Monday, the Worcester boys thrashed Delmarva Christian, 19-1, in an Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference contest.

The pair of wins ran the Mallards’ win streak to seven games and improved their record to 7-1, their only losing coming to Parkside by a narrow 6-5 margin in the season opener. During the seven-game streak, the Mallards have outscored their opponents, 109-37, for an average of over 15 goals per game.

Worcester begins a four-game road streak this afternoon at Salesianium and will travel to Cambridge-South Dorchester on Monday. The streak also includes road games against Sussex Tech and Salisbury School. The Mallards close out the regular season with a couple of tough home games including Calverton and Bishop McNamara.
