Seahawks Solid In Latest Indoor Meet

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity indoor track teams turned in solid performances in the latest Bayside Conference meet last week with the girls finishing third overall and the boys finishing sixth.

In terms of individual performances on the girls’ side, Decatur’s Christina Romano was fifth in the 300, while Claire Billings finished eighth in the 500. In the 55 hurdles, Emily Cook finished sixth and Adrianna Serpe finished seventh. Romano was first in the high jump and Bethany Williams was second in the long jump. Williams also finished second in the triple jump while Serpe was sixth. Decatur traditionally does well in the pole vault and that continued last week. Katie Hofman was first and Jillian Mitrecic was third.

On the boys’ side, Cameron James was third in the 1,600 and fifth in the 3,200. Javier Hernandez was sixth in the 3,200 and Jack Reimer was seventh. Tyrese Milbourne finished eighth in the 500 and John Ford was eighth in the 800. In the relays, Decatur was sixth in the 4×800 and eighth in the 4×400. In the field events, Evan Haas was second in the pole vault and Ben Jolley was eighth. Milbourne also finished 10th in the long jump.
