Nandua Ends Worcester Girls Streak At Five

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity basketball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end this week with a 55-37 loss to Nandua on the road on Monday.

The Mallards had won five in a row dating back to December 9 and had handled most opponents comfortably, but the streak ended on Monday with a 55-37 loss to Nandua. The loss was just the second overall on the season for the Worcester girls, their first also coming to Nandua, 50-24, at home back on December 2. Their only other loss came during the Indian River Tip-Off Classic on December 5.

Nandua got out to an early 7-4 lead after one quarter on Monday and led 23-16 at the half. Worcester struggled offensively in the third, but rallied somewhat in the fourth. The comeback attempt fell short as Nandua pulled away for the 55-37 win.
