Joseph Flicop

Joseph Flicop

He was born in Boston, Mass. and will always be the world’s greatest Boston Red Sox fan. A proud veteran of the US Navy, he served in Korea and Vietnam and after his military service received his PhD at Harvard in political science and U.S. history. He then worked as a Foreign Service officer with the US embassy.

A loving family man, he raised his children in Annapolis and worked as a full professor. After retiring, he moved to Ocean City with his family and moved to Cocoa Beach four years ago. He loved the beach, the Red Sox and his three grandchildren.

Everyone who had the privilege and honor to meet him says he was the most caring loving person and the greatest man who ever lived, a true family man.

Mr. Flicop is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Evelyn Flicop; his three children, son, Paul Flicop, daughter, Norma Flicop and daughter, Sharon Flicop Weker; and three wonderful grandchildren, Matthew Montalbano, Melanie Engle and Tara Weker. His family was the light of his life.
