Seahawks Thrash Warriors, Improve To 3-0

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity football team stayed on an early season roll last weekend, thrashing Easton, 44-9, to improve to 3-0 on the season.

The Seahawks went just 2-7 last year, but have already eclipsed that win total just three weeks into the 2015 campaign. Decatur led just 7-3 after one quarter, but scored two times in the second to take a 21-3 lead into halftime. The third quarter was played fairly evenly with both teams scoring just six points as the Seahawks maintained a 27-9 lead.

In the fourth, however, Decatur closed out the game with 17 unanswered points to secure the 44-9 win. With the win, the Seahawks improved to 3-0 on the season with earlier wins over Bohemia Manor and Wicomico. Thus far, Decatur has outscored their opponents by a combined 82-29. The Seahawks face a tough test on Friday when they hit the road for a game against Bayside North power Kent Island.
