Youth Lax League Start Date Moved Back

OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department’s fall youth lacrosse league slated to begin this week has been moved back to next Tuesday in order to increase enrollment in the new program.

The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department is offering a fall youth lacrosse league on Tuesday nights at the town’s recreational sports fields at 3rd and 4th Streets. Registration opened last week and the program was scheduled to begin on Tuesday, but the start date has been moved back to next Tuesday in order to accommodate late registration and gain more participants.

The fall lacrosse game play league will now run on Tuesdays from September 8 through October 20. Kindergarten through 2nd grade will play from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday night during the season. Players in grades three and four will take the field from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and grades five through six will play from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. under the lights when necessary.

Participants will be split into different teams each week to allow them to play different positions and with different players. The cost of the program is $42 for Ocean City residents and $53 for non-residents. For more information on the program, or to volunteer to coach, contact Ron Strickler at [email protected].
