OC Jeep Week Underway With Variety Of Activities; Jeep Jam Events Feature Obstacle Courses

OCEAN CITY — Ocean City and Berlin will be swarmed with Jeeps, 4×4 companies and off-road enthusiasts on throughout the weekend with the much-anticipated return of Ocean City Jeep Week.

The event will be held at various locations in Ocean City and Berlin with the Roland E. Powell Convention serving as the main hub. The event kicked off yesterday and continues Friday, Aug. 28, from 7 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 29, from 7 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 30 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

Among the many activities planned are the following:

•Trick Truck’s Beach Crawls on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 28-29, 7-9:30 a.m.: Each morning, 250 Jeeps will begin on the Ocean City beach at 30th street and ride down to the Inlet. This is an exclusive opportunity for registered Jeeps to drive a three-mile path on Ocean City’s pristine beach. Participants will then proceed to the Ocean City Convention Center for Jeep Week headquarters events and activities.

•Jeep Week Headquarters, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 28-29, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center: Jeep Week Headquarters will have a plethora of events and entertainment for both Ocean City Jeep Week participants and spectators. The top 4×4 and Jeep vendors in the world will be inside and outside the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in the Exotic Sound and Tint Vendor Row all three days. They will be selling their products, talking about their services, and showcasing what they do.

Other highlights of Jeep Week Headquarters are  performances by 10-time World Champion BMX stunt rider Mike Steidley, a meet-and-greet with Genrite off-road legend Tony Pellegrino, a display of the Siagon Shaker, the only Jeep monster truck on the Monster Jam Circuit, a meet-and-greet with its driver Flying Ryan Disharoon, a live Jeep build inside performed by CC Customs, hook-up seminars by Chaos Fab Shop, monster truck rides by TNT monster Truck in the parking lot, “The World’s Biggest Jeep” built by Velocity Channel’s “Junkyard Empire” star Tom Bostic, a live DJ and music and a Show & Shine on Friday. JP Magazine will be on-site covering all the exciting events.

•Jeep Jam, Friday, Aug. 28, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-6 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 29, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 3-7 p.m. located on Old Ocean City Road in Berlin, across from Burley Oak and behind CC Customs and Cropper Towing: This event offers registered Jeeps large obstacle courses, trail rides and mud pits. Spectators bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy music with DJ Big Al Reno and a perfect view of participants navigating over the exciting course. There will be public parking available.

•Ocean City Jeep Week Wrap-Up Party, presented by Wicked Jeeps, Saturday, Aug. 29, 9 p.m.-1 a.m. at Ropewalk on 82nd Street: Enjoy a beautiful bay view and amazing atmosphere while mingling with the Jeep community. Participants show your lanyard and get drink specials.

•Ocean City Jeep Week Send Off, Sunday, Aug. 30, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Berlin Jeep at 10420 Old Ocean City Blvd. in Berlin: A final goodbye party to all who came, saw and conquered Ocean City Jeep Week. Send off includes coffee and donuts.
