Team Earns Ranking
SALISBURY – Long & Foster Real Estate, the largest family-owned residential real estate company in the United States, announced that The Maryland Group, a team of agents based throughout the state, ranked 168th out of 250 for real estate teams nationwide, based on transactions in 2014, as ranked by REAL Trends, Inc.

The Maryland Group came together in 2014 when the Brandon Brittingham Team of Salisbury and Team Gardiner of Frederick joined forces. The team includes more than 20 top-producing agents. The team is committed to focusing on leading technologies and marketing and its agents are heavily trained in the art of negotiation and customer service.

Becker Morgan Group announced new hires throughout several divisions in the Salisbury. New additions to the architectural staff include John Foley III, Brice Reid, Kevin Utz, Brooke McGrath and Connor Hall. Joining the Engineering staff is Smith Purdum II. Rejoining the Survey staff is Brent Wilson with over 20 years of professional experience. Becoming a part of the Interior Design staff is Natalie Yeasted.
AGH Adds Dermatologist
BERLIN – Atlantic General Hospital and Health System has welcomed dermatologist Sara Moghaddam as the newest member of its medical staff.
Moghaddam joins Curtis Asbury, M.D., in practice at Atlantic General Dermatology in Selbyville, Del. Moghaddam provides care for general dermatology needs, while also performing Mohs micrographic surgery and other minimally invasive interventions for skin cancer.
She completed her dermatology residency at the State University of New York University Medical Center in Stony Brook, and received her medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our dermatology services and excited to have Dr. Moghaddam join the AGHS network of providers,” said James Brannon, vice president of professional services at Atlantic General Hospital. “With the addition of Dr. Moghaddam, we will be better able to provide the Eastern Shore with the dermatology services they need.”

Certification Achieved
SALISBURY — Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) announced that it has earned The Joint Commission’s Certification and Gold Seal of Approval® for AMI (Treatment of Heart Attack). The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care.
PRMC recently underwent a rigorous on-site review where Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with national disease-specific care standards as well as with specific requirements for the treatment of heart attack. Clinical practice guidelines and performance measures also were assessed.
“It’s the comprehensiveness of the cardiology services available to the residents of the Delmarva Peninsula that really sets the gold standard for the care we provide, and achieving this re-accreditation further validates the outstanding quality provided by this multi-disciplinary team,” said Steven E. Hearne, co-director of the Guerrieri Heart & Vascular Institute.
Established in 2002 and awarded for a two-year period, The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Care Certification evaluates clinical programs across the continuum of care and addresses three core areas: compliance with consensus-based national standards; effective use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care; and an organized approach to performance measurement and improvement activities.
“Peninsula Regional Medical Center has thoroughly demonstrated a high level of care for patients with AMI,” said Wendi J. Roberts, RN, Executive Director, Certification Programs, The Joint Commission. “We commend PRMC for becoming a leader in the treatment of heart attack, potentially providing a higher standard of service for patients on the Delmarva Peninsula.”
In 2014, over 200 people were treated for AMI at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, the regional Trauma Center and Cardiac Interventional Center for the Eastern Shore of Maryland as designated by the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS). The Medical Center staff work closely with local EMS to quickly diagnose people who may be experiencing a heart attack. That relationship allows for professional care in the field and rapid transport to the Medical Center’s Emergency/Trauma Center. If necessary, patients have immediate access to Peninsula Regional’s Guerrieri Heart & Vascular Institute for additional treatment options including cardiac catheterization, cardiac intervention and coronary artery bypass surgery.
New HR Director Named
Stacey Norton
SNOW HILL — The Worcester County Commissioners has named Stacey Norton as the new Human Resources Director.
Norton earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management from Auburn University in Alabama.
Prior to stepping into her new role with Worcester County Government (WCG) on July 6, she served as the Complex Human Resources Manager for Perdue Foods, LLC in Milford, Del. She brings 16 years of generalist and specialist experience in Human Resources and six years of IT experience to WCG.
“I am very excited for the opportunity to work with and serve the associates and residents of Worcester County,” Norton said. “It is an honor to be a part of this great organization.”
George Bradley
Norton, who resides in Ocean Pines, actively volunteers in the community. A few of the organizations she supports include the Perdue Relay for Life Team for the American Cancer Society, Delaware Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, March of Dimes and Project Clean Stream.
Norton took over for former Human Resources Director George P. Bradley, who joined the team in 2001 as the risk manager. He took over as the director in February 2008. His expertise in the field of Human Resources helped the Commissioners put together a team of top notch employees who strive to meet the goals of the county while providing outstanding service to the citizens. Bradley retired June 30.
