OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Tennis Center celebrated the Fourth of July weekend with a fabulous tennis mixer and cookout with dozens of men and women participating in a highly competitive tournament.
A total of 36 men and women enjoyed four rounds of great tennis during the Firecracker Tennis Mixer at the Ocean City Tennis Center last weekend. The men’s division saw a three-way tie for first with Rick Martin, Steve Beebe and Art Widmann each winning 20 games. Greg Beach came in second with 19 wins, followed by Greg Rothwell and Bill Ibrahim with 18 wins each.
The women’s tournament was no less impressive. Judy Capello took a close first with 19 wins. Second place went to Pat Beach, Julie Schribner and Jane Lai with 18 wins each. Monica Daugherty finished one game back for third place. The next Tennis Mixer and Cookout at the Ocean City Tennis Center is set for Sunday, September 6, from 9 a.m. to noon.
