BERLIN – The Berlin Maryland Chamber of Commerce has announced the return of one of the town’s most highly anticipated events of the year, the Berlin Bathtub Races, for Friday, July 17.
The event kicks off with the parade of artfully crafted bathtubs beginning at 6 p.m. with races set to start at 6:15 p.m.
Each year local businesses are tasked with turning ordinary bathtubs into rolling masterpieces for a friendly yet competitive race through the streets of historic downtown Berlin. Beyond having the unique opportunity to design a racing bathtub on wheels, businesses get the chance to go head-to-head against one another while advertising their business at the same time.
The winning team and business will take home the illustrious “Winner Takes All Rubber Ducky” trophy along with highly coveted year-long bragging rights.
First place winners also receive a free banner ad on the Berlin Maryland Chamber of Commerce website as well as recognition in e-mail blasts and press. Tub and team entry fees are $75 for chamber members and $100 for non-members. Previous winners include My Nature, D3Corp, Ayers Creek Adventures/Baked Dessert Cafe, PNC Bank and the Berlin Shoe Box.
The Berlin chamber is also pleased to announce the opportunity for heat sponsors at a minimal cost of $50. Your business will be mentioned to the crowd by the Master of Ceremonies and if you have gifts to hand out, that can be done at that time as well.
