SALISBURY- The Wicomico Bass Club is hosting its annual bass tournament this weekend with the dual purpose of gathering new toys for the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program and to get more kids interested in fishing.
The club is a member of the Delaware Bass Foundation, which promotes bass fishing, conservation and sportsmanship. The Wicomico Bass Clubs next significant event is a tournament set for Saturday on the Pocomoke River. The tournament will collect toys for the Toys for Tots program and will also help encourage young people to enjoy the sport.
The club meets monthly in Salisbury and organizes 10 competitive bass tournaments each year. The tournaments take place in both Maryland and Delaware. Club members encourage catch-and-release, inspire a high level of fun and camaraderie and promote a clean environment to ensure fishing for future generations.
