Local Teams To Compete In Bi-State Rivalry

SALISBURY- The Delmarva Shorebirds this weekend are hosting the annual Bi-State Rivalry Challenge featuring some of the top teams from Maryland and Delaware in a five-game series on Friday and Saturday.

The Bi-State Challenge will be held over two days starting this afternoon at the Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Included in the field are Stephen Decatur and Parkside, which are currently tied atop the Bayside South standings although the games will have no bearing on the standings. Friday’s schedule includes the 14-1 Seahawks against Indian River at 4 p.m., while Parkside will take on Delmar at 7 p.m.

Saturday features a triple-header with Washington taking on Laurel at 9 a.m., Snow Hill facing Woodbridge at noon and Parkside versus Dover at 3 p.m. Tickets for the games will be sold in the Perdue Stadium lobby on game day and will cost $5.
