Decatur Boys Sweep Two Bayside Foes

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s boys’ varsity lacrosse team collected two wins against Bayside North opponents last week, beating Easton, 7-5, on Wednesday followed by a 10-0 rout of North Caroline last Friday.

The Seahawks are now 3-1 after the first segment of their schedule, their only loss coming to Kent Island, 10-9, back on March 30. Decatur opened with an 8-4 win over Saints Peter and Paul and have now collected wins over Easton and North Caroline since the loss to the Buccaneers.

Decatur faced Easton on a cold, rainy, dreary field at home last Wednesday and prevailed, 7-5, in the low scoring contest. Corey Gwin led the attack with three goals, while Steve Alther scored twice. Matt LeCompte and Shane Moore each scored single goals. Dryden Brous won seven faceoffs, while Will Hastings collected six saves in the net. The Seahawks face Queen Anne’s at home on Friday followed by a tough matchup with Cape Henlopen on the road next Monday.
